2010 civil contract: arrangements for billing of disbursements

For some time the LSC has been in discussions with representative bodies to see whether there were measures that could be introduced to ease the additional cash-flow burden that immigration and mental health providers face when carrying out Controlled Work.

Some of the suggestions that have been considered are simply unaffordable in the current financial climate.

However, following discussions between Lord Bach and the representative bodies it has been decided that the LSC should include an optional periodic billing of disbursements (not including Counsel’s fees) for cases opened under the new Civil Contract when it comes into effect in October 2010.

Updated 2010 contract documentation, including Family Mediation Specification, can be found on the Standard Civil Contract page.
